I have extensive experience as a company director, having co-founded two cyber security consultancies, providing services to international and SME companies and large public sector organisations.

Additionally, I am a director of a not-for-profit community interest company (CIC) that helps other organizations in the North West UK to innovate within the Cyber Security industry and develop links and relationships to work with and for public sector organizations.

I have directed these organizations through both turbulent and prosperous times, working across finance, operations, compliance, and sales. I am regularly asked to present at public speaking events and often host seminars and webinars on cyber security matters.

My specialties include Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), supporting my own organisations and helping clients deliver their services in compliance with international, national, and government requirements. My approach to risk management is to clearly articulate the risk in terms the business or customer can understand and provide pragmatic advice on the options available.

I am diligent and strategic in my thinking, able to set and report metrics that balance the priorities and objectives. I stand back and see the bigger picture, considering value for money and return on investment to give practical advice.

With 11 years of experience working for a 'Big 4' consultancy and setting up two companies and a CIC, I have seen the challenges that businesses face, whether internal GRC issues or winning business with customers. I will bring a wealth of experience to your company, providing an independent view of all GRC matters.

I am available for short-term and long-term placements across the UK as a NED.
